Announcing Our Exciting Excursion Programme - Secure Your Spot

With the Glass-Technology Conference 2024 on the horizon, we are keen to announce our Excursion Programme. Scheduled for Monday, 27 May 2024, these carefully selected excursions are designed to enrich your conference experience.

Space for each excursion is limited, and spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is encouraged to ensure participation in these specially curated experiences. To book your excursion and secure your place, please register at your earliest convenience.

  • RWTH Institute Excursion 
    The Chair of Glass and Glass Ceramics is primarily concerned with the main research areas of glass development and thermochemistry, process technology and glass ceramics and composites. The tour of the institute includes the various special laboratory areas and the chair's equipment fleet. (Means of transport: public transportation)
  • IPGR - ZeroCO2-Glass Consortium Excursion
    The ZeroCO2-Glass Consortium will present the progress of the testing installation including the furnace, forming machine and the overall facility of the project. The work packages of the project will be shown in presentations by different partners of the consortium. (Means of transport: chartered bus)
  • Opencast Mine Garzweiler
    The tour program includes an introductory lecture followed by a tour of the opencast mine and the recultivation. (Means of transport: chartered bus)
  • Guided Sightseeing Tour Through Aachen
    Discover the charm of Aachen's historic old town: from Aachen Cathedral to the town hall and the dolls fountain, we'll reveal Aachen's most stunning locations and share exciting stories. (Means of transport: by foot)
