Recognising Outstanding Scientific Posters

Poster Awards

Scientific posters are an important part of the 99. Glass-Technology Conference, offering researchers, young scientists, and industry professionals the opportunity to present their work, exchange ideas, and engage in in-depth discussions with the glass community.

Posters will be displayed throughout the entire conference in the Foyer Franconia Saal. In addition, the dedicated Poster Session will take place on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, from 15:40 to 17:00 during the Coffee Break. The best posters will be honoured during the Conference Banquet Dinner on Tuesday evening.

Detailed information on poster format, submission handling and related guidelines can be found here.

Poster Prizes

The three best posters will receive certificates and prize money:

1st place:    €400
2nd place:   €300
3rd place:    €200

Evaluation Criteria

To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, all posters will be reviewed independently by a jury of three to four experts. The jury members will evaluate the posters individually and then compare their assessments to determine the three winning contributions.

Please note that only scientific posters submitted by or in collaboration with universities, research institutions or institutes will be considered for the Poster Awards. Purely company-related posters or promotional contributions are not eligible for the award selection.

The evaluation is based on the following criteria:

  1. Technological relevance for the glass industry
Does the poster address a topic of technological interest or practical relevance for the glass industry?
  2. Clarity and accessibility
Is the content easy to understand, also for participants who may not be specialists in the exact research field?
  3. Structure and visual arrangement
Is the poster clearly organised, well structured, and visually accessible?
  4. Quality of figures and data presentation
Are figures, diagrams and tables clearly labelled? Are units and relevant information provided correctly?
  5. Overall scientific and individual impression
The jury will also consider the overall quality, coherence and impact of the poster presentation.

Each criterion will be assessed on a scale from 1 = very good to 6 = not good / insufficient.

The Poster Awards recognise outstanding scientific work, clear communication and the successful presentation of research that contributes to current developments in glass science and technology.
